Right click -> Quality -> Low is pretty much essential here.
The last Rnava I ever animated. It was animated in Flash 8, and about half a year ago I upgraded to Adobe Flash and fixed some parts of the animation.
I have no idea why I would find it fun to animate very elaborate characters in such a great amount of detail.
Guess how many separate symbols this is made out of?
Haha. It's 37.
18 of them are in Rnava's head and mane. I built his head to be 3D-like and capable of talking, growling, snaeering etc. But it is actually just lots of 2D layers playing tricks on you.
The reason why I didn't end up using this model for a Flash movie is because 1) it's way too heavy and will jitter and slow down on slower computers and 2) I reckoned that if I can put so much time into building something like this in Flash, I could build better things in a 3D program. I started studying Maya but failed miserably and came crawling back to Flash begging her to take me back.
